JEC – The Original Austin Bucket

The JEC range, our original bucket, is supported by more than half a century of engineering and investment. Our JEC buckets provide a heavy-duty, linered approach for high-density and hard rock applications.

Austin offers JEC brand back hoes, wheel loaders, hydraulic loading shovels, rope shovel dippers and specialist underground LHD buckets.

The JEC bucket is fully customisable to suit any mining application from hard rock to iron ore and coal, and is highly durable and long-lasting.

Featuring a heavy-duty main shell plate and upper impact structural rubbing, the JEC provides an optimised bucket structure and improved serviceability.

HP Series – The Linerless High-Performance Model

Austin’s High-Performance (HP) bucket range consists of a reusable upper and consumable lower structure as opposed to more conventional fully welded unit designs.

Its HP series offers the HPX excavator back hoe, HPL wheel loader, HPS hydraulic loading shovel, and the HPU underground bucket.

The HP range is designed to outperform any buckets that have come before it, providing a long list of operational improvements, with our HPX backhoe model including a 15% lighter and more efficient bucket design with a 3% improvement in digging efficiency.

Austin’s HP bucket benefits from a linerless design, with added maintenance options to extend the life of your bucket. Featuring an average 25% reduction in sidewall wear, our low-wear design requires minimal maintenance during its working life. The inclusion and use of high-wear-resistant materials in key areas extend maintenance intervals and save costs in material, labour, and loss of production due to downtime.

Hulk – ‘More Dirt, Less Steel’

Our Hulk buckets are manufactured to industry-leading quality and safety standards and our philosophy is simple, “More Dirt Less Steel”.

Austin’s Hulk series offers an excavator back hoe, wheel loader, and hydraulic loading shovel.

The Hulk bucket has been extensively engineered to provide a noticeable efficiency uplift and increase in productivity. Hulk buckets are a linerless design with strategically positioned cast corners and upper tube assembly for overall bucket strength, which enables an overall weight reduction while maintain structural strength.

The Hulk bucket has seen results of proven dig energy efficiency and increased ore movement per pass.

Armadillo and JEC Dippers

Our rope shovel dippers include buckets from the JEC and Armadillo product lines.

Our JEC dipper is a well-known product and proven in the field with its applications spanning traditional hard rock through to coal.

The Armadillo is a state-of-the-art solution to the dipper bucket.

It is a proven design through FEA analysis and optimised material flow. The custom design allows for quicker fill times and with up to a 9% full energy reduction on standard and shallow bench heights, it is the best choice for miners when it comes to dipper buckets.

All of Austin’s dipper buckets are equipped with the latest version of the company’s proprietary door latching and control system, iTrip, which is already widely used in Australia.

By using iTrip, maintenance intervals are significantly reduced, and the components’ service life is increased. This system has been proven to extend the standard dipper service life between overhauls by up to 18 months.

Mainetrack Available Across All Buckets

Austin’s customers can access accurate information regarding the condition of their trays and buckets through Austin’s Mainetrack asset management software. After providing their initial equipment data, customers can easily retrieve information about equipment wear through the Mainetrack app.

The system logs wear over time and even predicts when equipment will reach predetermined wear limits. This information helps customers determine when to schedule rebuilds or replacements for their equipment.
