Austin’s committment to the mining industry
We are pleased to announce the launch of the Austin Excellence Awards program – a new initiative designed to recognize and celebrate the exceptional innovative achievements of our team members. This program underscores our commitment to fostering a culture of innovation within the company.
The Austin Excellence Awards will recognise different levels of achievement, culminating in Gold, Silver, and Bronze level awards. Further details on the Awards program, including the nomination process, will be shared in early FY25. However, in the interim, we believe it is important to commence the program and recognize a number of significant recent achievements among our global team members. The Austin Board has considered these achievements and determined the initial recipients of Gold level awards. Over the coming months, we will announce each successful recipient and highlight their achievements, each one demonstrating our Austin Values and focus on our strategic objectives.
The inaugural Austin Excellence Award – Gold level has been presented to John Olszewski, our Head of Global Information Technology. John’s leadership and innovative strategies within the IT department have significantly enhanced our operations, earning him this prestigious recognition.
John’s team has been instrumental in implementing cost-optimisation strategies across our IT operations, enabling reinvestment in critical areas, most notably the development of our advanced cyber protection systems and personnel training.
Under John’s guidance, the IT department has focused on strengthening our cyber defences, a critical component in protecting our digital assets and ensuring the continuity of our operations. His approach has facilitated a resilient framework that supports our business objectives and technological advancements.
Reflecting on his time at Austin Engineering, John expressed his appreciation for the company’s collaborative culture and the innovative projects that drive our industry forward. “Leading technology here means constantly pushing the boundaries, leveraging data-driven insights, and enhancing our operational excellence,” John stated.
